NMI Integration Testbed Final Results Workshop; TACC Hosts Reception on 9/30
The National Science Foundation Middleware Initiative (NMI) Integration Testbed will hold a final results dissemination workshop immediately following the Internet2 Members' meeting in Austin, Texas. The nine core NMI Testbed sites will highlight the results and insights they have gained from over two years of middleware evaluation and integration, in enterprise as well as research applications. The sites are: Florida State University, Georgia State University, Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Alabama in Huntsville, University of Florida, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, and the University of Virginia. NMI funds the design, development, testing, and deployment of middleware to support scientific and engineering research. The NMI Integration Testbed Program, managed by the Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA), participates in the NMI to provide "real life" evaluation and feedback on NMI middleware software, specifications, and services.
The workshop is open to the public and will take place Thursday afternoon, September 30, and Friday morning, October 1, with a Thursday evening reception and tour at the Texas Advanced Computing Center at The University of Texas at Austin. Testbed sites will present their collective work, highlighting technological and planning considerations, decision points, and integration activities that enabled successful use of NMI middleware. Others who are planning or in the midst of middleware deployment can benefit from the perspectives and knowledge that sites have gained. A full agenda is available on the NMI Testbed Web: http://www.nsf-middleware.org/testbed/meetings/I2workshop04/agenda.html
There is no charge to attend this event, but seats are limited and early registration is strongly encouraged! Transportation will be provided to Internet2 members from the Hilton Austin Hotel to/from the reception at TACC.
