Diametriq and Adax Team up at CTIA Wireless to Demonstrate Diameter Signaling Controller
Diametriq and Adax announced that they will be jointly demonstrating Diametriq's Diameter Routing Engine (DRE) on the Adax PacketAMC ATCA subsystem processor card at CTIA Wireless 2012 in New Orleans from May 8 through May 10 in booth 2725.
In February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Adax presented a pre-integrated "Network in a Box" for Long Term Evolution (LTE) Evolved Packet Core (EPC) applications. Diametriq's DRE complements that package by offering Diameter signaling control functionality. Diametriq will be demonstrating the 3GPP Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) function which performs load balancing between the Policy Control Enforcement Function (PCEF) and the Online Charging System (OCS). The demonstration tracks a data session for pre-paid subscribers showing how the users' accounts are monitored and debited in real time.
This is just one of several Diameter signaling control solutions included in the Diametriq DRE portfolio. In addition to the DRA, the product includes a Diameter Edge Agent (DEA), a Subscription Locator Function (SLF) and a Diameter Interworking Function (IWF). Diametriq's DRE , the company's flagship product, provides load balancing, roaming and interworking that can be customized to an operator's specific requirements. The DRE is a suite of Diameter signaling controller applications hosted on the Diametriq Diameter platform which can be easily extended to other applications such as roamer steering or analytics. Key features include the detection and management of congestion, advanced security features, and dynamic scalability where server instances can be added without interruption in service.
The Diameter Routing Engine is available integrated on the Adax PacketRunner ATCA blade and PacketAMC boards and in a range of cost-effective and energy efficient 2, 6 and 14 slot ATCA systems. To learn more about Adax products, please go to www.adax.com/applications/epc.html .
Diametriq's high performance Diameter platform is already widely deployed by leading network operators around the globe. The platform is flexible to meet the demands of today's wireless operators that must manage the surge in signaling traffic brought about by the dramatic growth in smart phone, tablet and other wireless devices.
"We have teamed with Adax on various projects over the last several years," said Anjan Ghosal, president and CEO of Diametriq. "We are pleased to offer our DRE on their leading edge platform. This offers the functionality, performance and reliability demanded by LTE operators."
"Diameter Signaling Control was the hot topic at Mobile World Congress," said Drew Sproul, director, marketing for Adax. "We are delighted to add the Diametriq DRE to the LTE solutions available on our platforms."
