Council on Competitiveness Announces Agenda for Second Annual Users Conference
The Council on Competitiveness, a national organization of business, academic and labor leaders, announced the agenda for the High Performance Computing (HPC) Users Conference on July 13, 2005. The conference will showcase Keynote Speaker Roger Enrico, Chairman of DreamWorks Animation SKG, discussing how High Performance Computing can capture global market share, and feature a variety of leading industry, university and government executives discussing cutting-edge problems that industry must solve to stay at the front of global competition. At the conference, leaders from industry, academia and the national laboratories will discuss grand challenge problems whose solutions could have a significant impact on competitiveness if more computational capability were available. They will also examine the gap between available HPC application software and the needs of users. The conference is part of the Council's larger mandate to foster innovation in the United States to ensure the competitiveness of the U.S. economy. It is co-sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration and Office of Science and the National Science Foundation. For more information on the conference and its speakers visit the HPC User Conference's website at www.hpcusersconference.com.
