Cray Launches Supercomputing Technical Workshop
Cray today announced that the first annual Cray Technical Workshop North America will focus on the Cray XT supercomputing infrastructure, with particular attention to how customers have used the Cray XT3 system to optimize computation-intensive applications to solve previously insoluble scientific and engineering problems.
Hosted by the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Cray User Group, the workshop is scheduled for February 26-28, 2007, at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The workshop will feature a keynote address by Cray Chief Technology Officer Steve Scott on Cray's plans for future architectural evolution, as well as sessions on the recently introduced Cray XT4 system, AMD's Quad Core Opteron processor and other topics of interest presented by Cray experts and customers. Presenters will be on hand from a number of world-renowned supercomputing organizations, including ORNL, Sandia National Laboratories, the Navel Research Laboratory, Pittsburgh Supercomputer Center, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, CSC Finland, the Numerical Algorithms Group UK and the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center.
