Stuart Maue Relies on Oracle BI Solution
Organizations of all sizes are taking advantage of the integrated Oracle Business Intelligence software stack, including Stuart Maue Mitchell & James, Ltd. (Stuart Maue), Oracle today announced. Stuart Maue implemented a reporting and analysis solution based on the pre-integrated Oracle Business Intelligence platform, including an Oracle Database 10g-based data warehouse, Oracle Business Intelligence 10g and Oracle Portal. Stuart Maue's clients can now track the lifecycle of their legal invoices and develop custom reports, helping to ensure that their legal invoices are accurate and up-to-date. Stuart Maue, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., specializes in the review and auditing of legal bills resulting from complex litigation, national class actions, multi-district litigation, and fee applications filed in major bankruptcies. Stuart Maue's clients sought customized reports and ad-hoc querying functionality to complement their reporting needs. The complexity of fulfilling the request was compounded by the size of the client's legal needs as Stuart Maue has performed legal fee audits in some of the largest attorneys' fee cases in the United States.
To meet their clients' needs, Stuart Maue deployed an Oracle Business Intelligence solution. The solution, which supports over 2,500 users, comprises an Oracle Database 10g-based data warehouse to store and manage client legal invoices, key components of Oracle Business Intelligence 10g including Oracle Business Intelligence Warehouse Builder for data integration and Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer for ad-hoc querying and reporting, and Oracle Portal for secure information access and self-service publishing. Stuart Maue's business intelligence (BI) system supports legal invoice analysis to custom reporting, placing the power of drilling down into data and generating reliable and actionable reports directly in the hands of its clients. The system manages the past three years worth of legal invoices totaling over $300,000,000 in fees and expenses.
Stuart Maue's IT team, with assistance from Oracle Consulting, established a prototype of the decision support system in just two months, and required only nine months in all to deploy the system in production. Speeding the firm's deployment of its BI system was the comprehensive and integrated nature of Oracle's products, eliminating the costly and time consuming approach of purchasing and integrating multiple tools from various vendors. The integrated nature of Oracle products also provide a secure infrastructure to store and share information confidently.
"With nothing more than a Web browser and a broadband connection, our clients can now compare many performance metrics and evaluate those elements against historical baselines," said Bradley Maue, M.S., vice president of IT and Systems Development, Stuart Maue. "Our clients can quickly query from a set of standard templates or customize pre-defined management reports in an ad-hoc fashion. Our Oracle Business Intelligence solution saves us time and money since we're no longer building custom reports for our clients. More importantly, our clients feel secure knowing that their data is stored on an integrated stack of Oracle products."
