Objectivity Achieves IBM Grid Computing Compliance
High performance Objectivity/DB object database (OODB) management platform is Level 6 Grid compliant. Addressing market demand for its real-time, distributed object database management platform, Objectivity, Inc., today announces that the Objectivity/DB platform complies with the highest level IBM Grid computing enablement. The Grid-enabled Objectivity/DB platform helps government, science and engineering organizations that use technology to gain a competitive advantage. Objectivity's Grid compliance environment was validated by IBM at the IBM Innovation Center for Business Partners located in Waltham, MA. Objectivity first ran its product on an IBM grid in March, 2006 at the Hursley Research Center, validating the ability to run batch programs in a grid architecture variant that IBM defines as Level 3. The validation at Level 6 ensures that Objectivity/DB can run in a grid enabled Service Oriented Architecture environment. Objectivity/DB is a high performance, distributed object database solution that stores and manages very large volumes of complex data for event and relationship processing within mission-critical applications.
Distribute Applications Easily and Cost-Effectively
This new Ready for IBM Grid Computing Systems Level 6 capability supported by the Objectivity/DB platform makes it easy to administer within a Grid computing environment. The Objectivity/DB Grid management feature allows Objectivity's customers to easily and cost-effectively distribute computer-intensive applications. Objectivity enables organizations building Grid computing intensive applications to collect and process increasing quantities of data from a growing number of sources to understand complicated inter-relationships and recognize patterns, transforming small clues into major breakthroughs. This common business challenge is critical for accurate real-time management decisions.
Enabling Distributed Next Generation Solutions
Grid technology is ushering in new data management paradigms to address the specific topology of the physical compute Grid. Grid computing, coupled with software designed for parallel scaling, permits businesses to solve problems and gain benefits that are simply infeasible to accomplish with more traditional approaches.
"Objectivity/DB's distributed object database architecture, now validated with the IBM Service Oriented Architecture platform needed to support this highest level of Grid compliance, makes it the optimal data management platform for a Grid environment," said Leon Guzenda, chief technology officer at Ojectivity, Inc. "The Objectivity/DB platform supports the Grid's distribution of work over the internet using a fully distributed database and processing model in a massively parallel environment."
"Software application developers and system architects today rely on Objectivity/DB to help them successfully develop and deploy their distributed next generation solutions," states Jay Jarrell, president and CEO at Objectivity, Inc. "We will continue to provide a diverse range of products and services to increase our customers speed, precision and productivity in the management of complex data for sophisticated software applications."
Grid Advantages for Objectivity Customers
Objectivity's growth is being driven by high-profile customers involved in security and intelligence, process control, medical and telecommunications equipment, financial services, and knowledge management. Objectivity markets Objectivity/DB the world's most powerful object database to ISVs, OEMs and end-users for real-time processing of complex data, document and process management, scientific computing and complex defense and security applications. Many of these customers use large numbers of inter-connected processors to prepare and analyze massive databases. Grid technology makes it easier for them to manage their computing and storage resources.
"This highest level of Grid compliance is an example of our continued commitment to work with technology leaders like IBM to ensure it is easier and more efficient for customers to run Objectivity-based applications within their Grid computing environments." said Jacques Darakdjian, vice president of engineering at Objectivity, Inc.
