DDT 1.9 Announced Massively Boosting Parallel Debugging Capability
DDT version 1.9 brings significant new productivity benefits to developers of scalar and large-scale parallel applications. Key features include: advanced memory debugging capabilities; user definable wizards to display complex data types
in C++, with inbuilt support for the C++ standard template library (STL); automatic process group definitions using cross processor comparisons; an improved source browser; and a number of useability capabilities aimed at both new and experienced DDT users.
“These new features significantly enhance DDT’s existing capabilities,” said Dr. Michael Rudgyard, CEO of Allinea Software. “In particular, the new memory debugging features, as well as the advanced C++ STL support, will provide our users with the tools that they need to find the most difficult bugs. The release of version 1.9 confirms our commitment to maintain DDT’s position as a best of breed product.”
“The development team has been working closely with a number of key end-users with debugging requirements that really push the technology to its limits,” added Dr. David Lecomber, CTO of Allinea. “This has helped us improve DDT’s ability to deal with extraordinary large numbers of source files and vast codes. It has also helped us to improve the robustness of the software and address issues that were not apparent for less demanding applications. DDT 1.9 offers features that will appeal to developers of complex scalar code as well as those with massively parallel codes. As the leader of a programming team myself, I am more than aware of the productivity benefits that these new capabilities can provide.
