Oracle's Application Server Platform Suite Offers Enhanced Integration Features
With the new release, "Oracle will now have a broader application portfolio that can be used to provide its expanded base of customers with robust composite application development capability that, going forward, will be demanded by an increasing number of organizations," according to Ken Vollmer, principal analyst in Forrester's Application Development & Infrastructure research group and author of the report. "A complete technology platform that includes the business applications, an application platform (containing robust integration capability), and integrated database technology will be one of the most efficient alternatives for organizations that want to acquire the ability to create composite applications."
In the report, Vollmer specifically highlights Oracle's enhanced integration capabilities including an Enterprise Service Bus; a Business Process Execution Language (BPEL)-based process management tool; data hubs; enhanced B2B integration capabilities, Business Activity Monitoring; and business intelligence.
Built on open standards with integrated development and management tools, Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 enables organizations to shift from complex, legacy Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) technologies to more flexible and open architectures based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and BPEL processes. It enables companies to Web enable legacy systems; to create composite applications; to build more efficient Business Processes; and to use Business Activity Monitoring to monitor their businesses and to improve operational efficiencies.
"We've received extremely positive feedback regarding the state-of-the-art Enterprise Integration enhancements included in Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2," said Thomas Kurian, senior vice president, Oracle Server Technologies, Oracle Corp. "Many organizations continue to cite integration as a key pain point in their information technology and business application infrastructures and are increasingly turning to Oracle to effectively integrate their data, systems and applications."
