AMAX unleashes supercomputer
AMAX has launched one of the world’s 200 fastest supercomputers. This supercomputer represents a new generation of high-performance computing (HPC) platform that is based on the energy efficient Intel quad core Xeon processing technology, providing customers with highly available, scalable, and low power consumption HPC architecture. AMAX’s high-bandwidth supercomputer offers exceptional value and impressive price/performance with a significantly reduced TCO for HPC IT organizations such as data centers, financial services, digital imaging and animation, aerospace and automotive engineering simulations, petroleum discovery and production. It provides customers with increased productivity, faster time-to-results, and an improved operating experience, from initial power-on through continuing production operations, and reduced support effort and costs. It also simplifies cluster management and application deployment for end customers.
AMAX’s supercomputer features a reliable and scalable architecture with 2,816 Intel Xeon CPU cores, 5,632GB of RAM, and 2,816 Terabytes of hot swap storage. It includes redundant cooling fans and efficient “Power Factor Corrected” redundant power supplies. It also features multiple InfiniBand interconnects with low latency InfiniBand host channel adapters as well as a multiple Ethernet management fabric and network switches with all critical components being easily accessible, hot-swappable, and redundant for reliability and serviceability.
