ADIC Appoints Storage Systems Expert From Clifford Chance
Advanced Digital Information Corporation has appointed Mark Galpin as Technical Consultant. Galpin joins ADIC from Clifford Chance where he was Storage team leader responsible for the storage and backup infrastructure for Clifford Chance’s offices in London. He will report to Steve Mackey, EMEA director of product marketing, ADIC. Galpin has almost 10 years of experience in the storage market, largely gained in the financial and legal sectors, including 6 years at PaineWebber, part of UBS as a network analyst. As well as his two years at Clifford Chance he has also worked for international legal practice Allen & Overy. He also has previous experience on the technology vendor side, having worked at EMC as a Technical Account Manger for a year.
“This is a great step forward for me as it allows me to focus more on storage and protection, as well as applying all the knowledge I have around backup,” said Galpin. “ADIC was a natural choice – it has the industry’s broadest line of high-performance tape libraries with the Scalar family and innovative solutions such as the Pathlight VX family of disk backup and restore solutions.”
Galpin continued, “Working with ADIC will also give me access to a range of high-level enterprise customers. I’m looking forward to advising these customers on how they can backup and recover their data rapidly and certainly retain it safely over time, as well as on how they can best structure their storage procedures. I will be working closely with ADIC’s respected EVAR (enterprise value added reseller) community to advise, help close sales and service existing customers.”
Christo Conidaris, regional director for ADIC UK and International said, “Mark’s knowledge of what storage managers in the most regulated markets need to stay compliant, as well as his real-world experience of ADIC’s products, secured him this new role. ADIC is continually expanding its technical consultancy and systems design services to ensure that our customers get the storage environment they need to meet their needs today and into the future.”
