Dataram First To Double IBM eServer 325 Memory
Dataram Corporation, a leading provider of server and workstation memory, today announced a first to market 4GB low profile memory module for IBM eServer 325, a dual processor AMD Opteron based server. The system’s memory capacity is expanded from 12GB to 24GB. The DRI325/4096 memory, developed and validated in Dataram’s engineering labs on the IBM eServer 325 running SUSE Linux Professional 9.0 operating system, enables very large data sets to reside in the server’s main memory. The eServer 325 has gained significant market recognition in scientific and technical computing with its integrated memory controller and high processor-to-memory bandwidth. Increasing main memory to 24 GB with Dataram’s 4GB modules enables complex applications for HPC (high-performance computing), geophysical exploration, simulations, CAE, high-end CAD and EDA tools to
run faster, delivering significant productivity gains.
The DRI325/4096 is a registered ECC PC2100 184 pin 4GB capacity memory utilizing advanced high-density 1-gigabit DRAMs. There are 18 externally stacked TSOP-II packages to deliver a module only 1.20” in height, ensuring 100% compatibility in space saving 1U rack-optimized chassis and high-density server clusters. The module also features full support for “Chipkill” advanced error detection and correction technology.
“Dataram is fully committed to delivering the highest capacity memory possible for advanced technical users,” stated Lars Marcher, COO of Dataram. “The 4GB memory for the eServer 325 is another example of this ongoing commitment to stay on the cutting-edge of memory technology.”
Dataram has many 4GB and 8GB memory upgrades, not available from the system manufacturers, to power advanced servers and workstations.
