Audcomp Computer Systems Set to Offer Cray XD1
Cray Inc. today announced that leading IT integrator and provider Audcomp Computer Systems will offer the Cray XD1 supercomputer to high-performance computing (HPC) clients throughout Canada. The AMD Opteron/Linux-based Cray XD1 system is purpose-built to handle the demanding scientific and technical computing applications used in research and engineering. "The Cray XD1 supercomputer is a best-of-breed HPC platform from an industry leader," said Paul Furtado, Audcomp's vice president for corporate affairs. "This outstanding product will let Audcomp offer superior solutions to our clients in the post-secondary education and research sectors, where processing power and scalability are important considerations. We also expect the Cray XD1 system to help us broaden our client base to include the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries."
