AdventNet’s Simulation Toolkit selected by University Of Missouri-Rolla
The University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR) has selected adventnet's Simulation Toolkit to teach its students about the latest networking solutions. The Information Science & Technology Department (IST) was established 3 years ago to enhance computing and networking education. The department was created to design an educational program with maximum exposure to current and evolving networking technologies that require network simulation. Adventnet's Simulation Toolkit perfectly suited this requirement. The simulation toolkit provided cost efficiencies that were critical to the department along with other core features that exceeded their expectations and met all requirements. The IST department expressed their gratitude towards AdventNet's representatives for their professionalism and the manner in which they handled their special academic needs. Deployment of the Simulation Toolkit by the IST department was seamless, short and cost-effective.
"AdventNet's simulators will greatly enhance the student-learning experiences through the interaction with realistic network scenarios," said Dr.Barry Flachsbart, Chair, Information Science & Technology Department. "Our school appreciates the opportunity to integrate the AdventNet simulator toolkit into our networking classes and research."
"Working hands-on with AdventNet will give my students an opportunity to work in an environment where network size, topology and make-up resemble networks they may encounter when they enter the work force," said Dr. William R. Kehr, Instructor, Information Science & Technology Department. They will also be able to gain valuable experience with remote management and monitoring tools required to efficiently oversee large corporate networks. "This greatly benefits our department, our graduates and their eventual employers."
"We believe that academic institutions such as Information Science & Technology (IST), University of Missouri-Rolla can greatly benefit by using the Simulation Toolkit. The product has wide range of protocol and service support that include SNMP, TL1, TFTP, FTP and Cisco IOS interface," said Manikandan Vembu, Director-Sales & Marketing at AdventNet, Inc. "This enables customers to simulate complete IP network containing Cisco devices such as Routers, Switches etc. "Another benefit is that it assists academic institutions to teach networking courses without investing in expensive equipment."
