Dell Introduces New High Performance Network Storage System
AUSTIN, TX -- Dell (Nasdaq:DELL) today expanded its line of network storage systems with the new Dell EMC CX600, a Fibre Channel storage array that offers enterprise customers high capacity, performance and availability while easing the deployment of storage hardware and software. The Dell EMC CX600 is the latest in a series of product offerings that Dell and EMC have released since announcing a five-year partnership in October 2001. Over the past 10 months, the two companies have launched new storage management software, new storage capabilities such as the integration of PowerVault NAS on Dell EMC SANs, and established SAN Centers of Expertise worldwide to assist customers with SAN deployments.
The Dell EMC CX600 is designed to support data-intensive applications such as disaster recovery, data warehousing, e-mail or video streaming and incorporates 2-gigabit Fibre Channel technology for fast, reliable data transfer in large SAN environments. It includes the full lifecycle of services and support to maximize performance and uptime and provides customers with investment protection as their infrastructure grows.
"This new offering demonstrates the momentum of our strategic relationship with EMC and illustrates the ways in which we are delivering benefits to customers with increased capabilities, high caliber services and low total cost of ownership," said Russ Holt, vice president of Dell's Enterprise Systems Group.
The high performance Dell EMC CX600 has eight front-end optical ports, each delivering up to 200MB/s Fibre Channel throughput, and scales to 17.5 terabytes of total capacity with the addition of disk array enclosures. The system works with previous generations of Dell EMC storage software products, allowing customers to replicate and share data between the Dell EMC CX600 and their existing Dell EMC Fibre Channel storage arrays.
The new system supports Dell's recently announced NAS and SAN enhancements that allow customers to easily integrate Dell PowerVault NAS products with Dell EMC SANs. Dell EMC customers also benefit from SnapView and MirrorView software that provides efficient backup and disaster recovery capabilities in support of customer business continuance goals.
"The Dell EMC CX600 expands our storage reach deeper into the enterprise," said Holt. "We will continue to bring to market technology that combines high performance storage and server systems with world-class services, software and support to meet customers' data intensive computing requirements."
Dell EMC CX600 customers can take advantage of the Dell Premier Enterprise Services portfolio of planning, deployment, training, and support services designed for critical computing environments. Dell Services simplify enterprise computing by helping customers rapidly deploy new systems, maximize system uptime and get the most from their technology investment.
The Dell EMC CX600 is now available worldwide from Dell starting at approximately $98,000 including installation and 3 years of service. For more information on Dell EMC network storage solutions, services and storage consolidation tools, please visit www.dell.com/emc.
