Spatial Announces Release of Standalone Deformable Modeling 7.0
BOULDER, CO -- Spatial Corp., a market-leading provider of 3D software components, today announced the release of version 7.0 of its Standalone Deformable Modeling software. The new release improves on the quality and functionality of previous versions, including continuity control, surface smoothing and ease of use. The Standalone Deformable Modeling component is an interactive sculpting tool for creating and manipulating free-form curves and surfaces. Its local and global editing features allow easy manipulation of B-spline and NURBS curves and surfaces to achieve a very high level of artistic design while retaining the ability to generate a precise, machinable surface.
New Modeling Features and Functionality in Standalone Deformable
Modeling 7.0:
-- Area Loads -- Allows spring loads to be applied to interior or exterior regions of any piece-wise linear or convex polygon, so that they can be pulled onto a target surface. This tool is particularly useful for specifying masking regions in Class A surfacing applications.
-- Improved Continuity Control -- Allows independent control of curvature, tangency and position continuity both interior to surfaces and along surface-to-surface transitions.
-- Object-oriented Graphics Interface -- Standalone Deformable Modeling now supports an easy-to-use, object-oriented interface for manipulating and rendering curves and surfaces. This new interface makes it easy for partners to integrate the Standalone Deformable Modeling component in their applications with minimal start-up cost.
-- Improved query functions -- New functions for querying relationships between Deformable Modeling pressures and springs and their associated geometry.
