Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference 2004 Registration
Registration is now open for Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference: October 6-9, 2004 in Chicago, Illinois. This year's theme, Making History, emphasizes the importance of cooperation and collaboration with women of different generations. It also highlights the impact that women have made and will continue to make on technology. The GHC conference is presented by The Anita Borg Institute of Women and Technology and ACM. Register by August 25th to receive the early registration rates. Special group rates for Grace Hopper Conference attendees are available at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers. The 2004 keynote speakers are Dr. Shirley Malcom, Head of Education and Human Resources of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Dr. Telle Whitney, President and CEO of the Anita Borg Institute of Women and Technology, and Professor Lydia Kavraki, from Rice University and the winner of the 2000 ACM Grace Hopper Award. Invited talk speakers include: Genevieve Bell from Intel, Linda Bernardi from Connecterra, Cynthia Dwork from Microsoft Research, Jessica Hodgins from CMU, Melody Moore from Georgia State, Daniela Rus from MIT, and Tandy Warnow from UT Austin. The GHC (www.gracehopper.org), inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology and ACM, the event hosts, enable these endeavors.
