Project on Technology Policy Expanding
Washington, D.C.—The Competitive Enterprise Institute is expanding its Project on Technology and Innovation with the addition of two new staff members. Braden Cox will serve as the Project’s Technology Counsel and Hanah Metchis is CEI’s newest Research Analyst. Cox and Metchis will complement the tech-focused work of Senior Policy Analyst Solveig Singleton. The Competitive Enterprise Institute is dedicated to advancing the cause of free markets, and the Project on Technology & Innovation represents the Institute's efforts into the areas such as antitrust, privacy, e-commerce, intellectual property, and telecommunications. A review of CEI tech work is available at http://www.cei.org/sections/section38.cfm.
“The addition of Braden Cox and Hanah Metchis will greatly increase our ability to tackle the important tech issues facing consumers and industry,” said Singleton. “Both are highly skilled and I look forward to the three of us working together.”
Before joining CEI, Braden Cox was counsel at Veriprise Wireless, a technology company formerly based in Atlanta. His law practice has included technology and insurance investment products and civil litigation. At CEI he will focus on intellectual property, e-commerce, privacy, and national security.
Hanah Metchis, a graduate of Bryn Mawr College, was a technical writer and editor before joining CEI. Her primary areas of research include online privacy and e-commerce.
Solveig Singleton directs the Project on Technology and Innovation. She is a graduate of Reed College and Cornell Law School and is the co-editor of Regulators’ Revenge (1998) and Economic Casualties (1999).
