Peribit Networks Names Industry Veteran Jef Graham CEO
SANTA CLARA, CA -- Peribit Networks, the only developer of DNA sequencing-based network bandwidth optimization products, today announced that computer and communications industry veteran Jef Graham has joined the company as president and chief executive officer (CEO). Graham is a strong operational executive with over twenty years global experience in the computer and networking hardware, software and services industries. He has been a CEO, senior vice president and general manager in both Fortune 500 companies and private start-ups. Graham comes to Peribit Networks after several years in executive management roles at 3Com, Trident Systems, and Hewlett Packard. He replaces Adam Grosser of Foundation Capital, who was serving as the company's interim CEO.
From 1995 to 2000, Graham worked for 3Com, most recently as the senior vice president of the $3+ billion commercial and consumer business. Prior to 3Com, Graham served as the CEO of Trident Systems, a document management systems integrator. Graham's HP career spanned fifteen years, including ten years in sales and marketing around the world. Later he served as general manager of a software division and then a hardware division. He began his career as an IBM systems engineer.
"Jef has consistently achieved outstanding business results through his vision and operational leadership," said Jim Goetz, Accel Partners and member of Peribit's board of directors. "Jef has a winning combination of experience in building companies and divisions, together with a proven, strong acumen in marketing and sales. He has that X factor that pulls it all together and makes things happen quickly. He will be a strong leader to the top-notch executive team that's already in place."
Graham has a track record of driving successful global product development, marketing, sales, and channel management efforts. He has also managed worldwide business acquisition, integration and divestiture. At 3Com, Graham managed diverse businesses: the systems business unit, including switches & routers, IP telephony and wireless products; the connectivity business unit, including network interface cards and mobile connectivity; and the consumer business unit, including analog & broadband modems, home networking and Internet appliances. He also served on the company's executive committee reporting directly to 3Com's president and CEO. During his tenure, Graham improved profitability and aggressively drove the company's growth efforts into new markets. He was responsible for the divestiture of the analog modem business, leading to the re-formation of US Robotics Inc.
"Jef's track record at 3Com and his networking background make him an excellent choice for Peribit Networks," said Eric Benhamou, chairman of 3Com Corporation. "At 3Com, Jef ran some of our most successful businesses. He was widely respected as an executive who inspires everyone from employees to customers and suppliers. Peribit's technology foundation and Jef's marketing, sales and operational expertise make for an impressive and winning combination."
"Peribit is one of those gems that comes along once in a lifetime," said Jef Graham, president and CEO of Peribit Networks. "I was attracted by Peribit's unique MSR technology and it's amazing ability to deliver dramatic ROI in a matter of months. All of Peribit's customers say that MSR products are a quantum leap over anything else available today. In fact, I have never seen a solution with such a compelling value proposition and ROI. In this economy, that's more important than ever."
