100GigE Grid Firm Gets $250K Seed
Grid Computing Firm Gets Funding: Grid-X, founded by a group of grid engineers and seed investors collaborating over the web, has raised new seed funding.
Still in stealth mode, Grid-X closed $250k in government contracts, complementing funds for developing the ultra high-speed offload engine.
The new design uses proprietary algorithms and coding to implement low cost 100 GigE offload and connectivity on both WAN and LAN. The system is planned to be compatible with the future infrastructure of the Grid.
Beta sites include federal laboratories and super computing firms, requiring cpu offload within their data centers and grid computing systems, with 100 Gbps connectivity.
