Lancope Receives Frost & Sullivan Award for NetFlow-Based Monitoring Across Physical and Virtual Environments
Lancope has been awarded the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Global Customer Value Enhancement Award for Network Performance and Cloud-Based Application Monitoring. The award is based on the ability of Lancope's StealthWatch System to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and return on investment by providing unprecedented network visibility across physical and virtual environments.
According to Frost & Sullivan, "Lancope nicely differentiates itself in the global network performance and cloud-based application monitoring market by offering unified visibility across physical and virtual networks. The flow-based monitoring ensures optimum network performance at reduced installation and operational costs, thus enhancing customer satisfaction."
"While it brings many benefits to enterprise networks, virtualization also introduces new challenges for network and security operations," said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope. "Lancope's StealthWatch System cost-effectively restores the visibility that can be lost through network virtualization and other innovations, enabling organizations to embrace new technology trends without sacrificing network performance or security."
In addition to its overall strong product line, which helps customers restore visibility, improve productivity and cut costs, Lancope was also recognized by Frost & Sullivan for:
- Value-added features: According to Frost & Sullivan, some of the most noteworthy features offered by StealthWatch include its virtual awareness, identity awareness and application awareness. By being able to obtain a comprehensive view of network traffic across both physical and virtual environments, as well as trace the cause of network issues all the way down to the exact application and user, organizations can obtain greater situational awareness for maintaining secure, high-performing infrastructures.
- A user-friendly approach: StealthWatch incorporates several ease-of-use features to help customers streamline workflows and reduce operational costs. These include custom dashboards, which provide customized views of network intelligence according to specific roles within an organization, as well as Relational Flow Maps, which deliver real-time, graphical views of specific groups of hosts on the network to quickly analyze their performance.
- Strategic partnerships: Lancope continuously pursues opportunities to strengthen its capabilities and customer relationships through strategic partnerships. Lancope's strategic partners include, among many others, Cisco Systems, VMware, IBM, Brocade and HP ArcSight.
"Information technology continues to advance rapidly, necessitating innovative solutions for high-performance network and security monitoring," said Srihari Padmanabhan, senior research analyst with Frost & Sullivan. "By delivering a flow-based architecture that offers unified visibility across physical and virtual networks, Lancope significantly reduces problem resolution time and optimizes network performance."
Lancope's StealthWatch System leverages NetFlow and other flow data from existing network devices to uncover not only the zero-day attacks that bypass perimeter defenses, but also internal threats. By unifying security, network and application performance monitoring in a single platform, the system eliminates network blind spots, cuts network and security management costs and dramatically expedites troubleshooting. StealthWatch is scalable to meet the needs of even the largest networks, analyzing up to three million flows per second.
The Customer Value Enhancement Award is part of Frost & Sullivan's Best Practice Awards, which are derived from in-depth interviews and primary market analysis conducted by Frost & Sullivan's industry analyst team.
