Oracle Unveils Enhanced Health Information Exchange Solution
Oracle has announced interoperability and security enhancements to Oracle Health Information Exchange, an open standards-based solution that enables healthcare organizations and government agencies to securely manage and share health data across networks to improve patient care, reduce costs and enhance revenues.
Oracle Health Information Exchange helps eliminate the complexity of deploying a Health Information Exchange (HIE) by providing a comprehensive and pre-integrated portfolio of products built on a scalable and secure infrastructure.
Fulfilling the need for data interoperability within private healthcare communities and streamlining connectivity to public exchanges, Oracle Health Information Exchange has expanded support for US Federal and global standards, such as the CONNECT architecture and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise specifications.
Oracle Health Information Exchange provides secure communication, system integration, enterprise master person indexing, consent management and enforcement, access auditing, a clinical data and document repository, record locator services, and terminology services enabled by best-in-class Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Applications.
Oracle Health Information Exchange now includes the following components:
Oracle Health Sciences Information Gateway, which enables secure, policy-based communications over the Internet to safeguard in-transit Protected Health Information;
Oracle Healthcare Master Person Index to provide a single point of reference to information about a patient, clinician, or other entity within a healthcare organization or health information exchange;
Oracle Health Sciences Information Manager to improve data accuracy, simplify data management, increase security and provide information access auditing for regulatory compliance;
Oracle Health Sciences Integration Engine to facilitate integration of healthcare data across disparate clinical and administrative systems using open standards-based HL7 messaging.
When combined with Oracle Enterprise Healthcare Analytics, the interoperable data produced through Oracle Health Information Exchange can be transformed into actionable insights regarding clinical quality and effectiveness, care management, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
