Imation Leaders to Speak at Storage Visions 2011 in Las Vegas
At the tenth annual Storage Visions Conference on Jan. 4 and 5, 2011, technology leaders from Imation will deliver presentations that highlight products and best practices for protecting and backing up data. In keeping with the 2011 Storage Visions Conference theme of "New Dimensions Drive Digital Storage," Imation's Subodh Kulkarni and James DePuydt will share their insights about the drivers for high-performance, high-reliability digital storage. Imation, named a finalist in Storage Visions' Visionary Company awards for "advancing the state of the art in storage technologies," will also exhibit at the two-day conference.
Subodh Kulkarni, chief technology officer, will participate in a panel titled "Finding, Protecting and Using Content" on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 10:30 a.m. Kulkarni will discuss the growing importance of data security, current best practices, and future advancements in securing removable storage media. He also will discuss the threat of data breach, and provide insight into the latest physical-security, encryption and authentication solutions being developed to defend removable storage media -- including flash drives, optical disc and external hard disk drives -- against ongoing security threats. James DePuydt, executive director, advanced technology and product engineering, will speak on a panel titled "Content Delivery Where Ever and When Ever," on Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 2:30 p.m. DePuydt will discuss how IT departments at small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) can simplify and consolidate their data back-up, disaster recovery and business continuity, and cloud-enabled storage using removable disk technology. He will cite the company's RDX platform -- a disk-based storage system that combines the best characteristics of tape backup with disk storage to deliver removability, portability, low total-cost-of-ownership, reliability, fast data transfer rates, and instant file retrieval.
Kulkarni leads Imation's global research, development, engineering and manufacturing functions. DePuydt leads Imation's advanced technology and product engineering laboratory. Both are recognized industry experts in data storage and archive technologies spanning magnetic, optical, flash and hard-disk drive storage formats, each with more than 20 years of experience in high-technology R&D, manufacturing, and product management.
In addition to these presentations, Imation also will exhibit its Defender Collection of secure data storage products and RDX removable disk systems, including its newly announced "A8" multi-dock RDX system.
