Nexsan Announces Participation at 2010 Gartner Data Center ConferenceNexsan Announces Participation at 2010 Gartner Data Center Conference
Nexsan has announced that the company will showcase its line of highly efficient and reliable storage systems to meet growing storage requirements at the 2010 Gartner Data Center Conference in Las Vegas, Nev. The conference will feature informative booth exhibits, educational sessions and case studies presented by experienced enterprise IT professionals at some of the world's most recognized organizations. On December 8, 2010, at 2:45 p.m, Westinghouse Electric Company will present on how it optimized its storage infrastructure to meet business objectives using Nexsan. The session will share how the global energy company used Nexsan technology to increase storage capacity and achieve dramatic gains in reliability without increasing costs or forcing datacenter expansion.
Westinghouse's datacenter is mission critical as it supports its engineering group which designs and constructs some of the world's most innovative nuclear power plants. This active development process produces exponentially increasing volumes of unstructured engineering file data and associated corporate data; the company's datacenter currently is responsible for more than 450 TB of data.
"Facing exponentially increasing storage costs and complexity, the innovative nuclear engineering organization was seeking more effective ways to reliably store a growing volume of information within its datacenters," said Richard W. Kuhar, president, ARKAY Storage Solutions. "Westinghouse quickly recognized the value provided by Nexsan's enterprise-class features, density and reliability. After five years in use, the Nexsan systems have cost-effectively met Westinghouse's IT requirements while also providing 100 percent uptime without any data loss."
"For companies that require a higher level of flexibility and reliability without physical expansion, Nexsan is able to achieve this in a very small footprint," said Randy Chalfant, vice president of strategy, Nexsan. "I encourage IT professionals at the event to join the Westinghouse presentation for real-world insight on optimizing storage infrastructure within budget while meeting IT and business objectives."
