Obsidian Strategics Joins IBM PartnerWorld
Obsidian Strategics has announced that it has joined IBM's PartnerWorld program.
IBM was a major technology contributor to the open-standard InfiniBand specification in 1999, and today successfully deploys InfiniBand in numerous product lines, including its DB2 pureScale(1) database server clusters. Obsidian's technology team has been working with InfiniBand since 2001, and today its Longbow family of products uniquely provide secure, low-latency and high-bandwidth InfiniBand links over standard optical wide area networks.
"It is exciting to watch InfiniBand flourish in data center applications, outside the realm of pure supercomputing applications," said Dr. David Southwell, Obsidian's CTO. "Obsidian's entry into IBM's PartnerWorld program opens the possibility of exploring compatibility and performance testing of DB2 pureScale configurations supporting Longbow-enhanced stretched cluster links over regional and metro area networks."
