Appro Launches The HyperBlade Mid-Cluster Solution
Modular and flexible technology to deliver excellent performance to any IT data center -- Appro, a leading developer of high-density, high-performance servers will be demonstrating its new HyperBlade Mid-Cluster designed to work with a standard 19" rack cabinet at ClusterWorld booth number 512. "Appro combines excellent engineering design, use of superior components and the latest in Intel and AMD multi-processor technology to deliver scalable clusters and supercomputing performance" said John Lee, Director of Product Marketing for Appro. HyperBlade Mid-Cluster Solution
The Appro HyperBlade Mid-Cluster is a flexible and scalable solution that addresses current business needs for customers wanting to continue with the standard 19 " rack cabinet but still have concerns about space optimization in the data center. Appro HyperBlade Mid-Cluster supports up to 50 HyperBlade servers in a standard 42U cabinet. It contains five sub-racks stacked in a row, housing 10 servers in each sub-rack. Each HyperBlade is an independent server, with its own processors, memory, storage, network controllers, operating system and applications. Appro HyperBlade servers offer a variety of configuration options; SAN, NAS based storage, high-speed Interconnect, BladeDome remote management tool and a choice of Linux or Windows operating systems.
Appro HyperBlade Mid-Cluster sub-rack key features include support for 10-HyperBlades in each sub-rack, integrated power strip for compute blade direct connections and blade locking mechanism. The HyperBlade server key features include: Dual AMD Opteron, Dual Intel Xeon, Dual Intel Itanium* 2 or Single Intel Pentium*4. It supports up to 16GB ECC, DDR memory, 500GB local storage and one PCI-X card slot.
