Fujitsu Selects Solarflare as its 10GbE Server Adapter Partner
Strategic partnership enables Fujitsu to offer complete switch-to-server networking solutions for 10GbE high-performance networking and storage connectivity
Solarflare has announced that Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leading provider of IT-based business solutions, including advanced technology products, biometric security, and digital media solutions, has selected Solarflare as its strategic partner for 10GbE server adapters. Fujitsu will sell Solarflares SFN5122F enterprise and SFN5162F midrange 10GbE server adapters under the Solarflare brand with the Fujitsu XG series Ethernet switches, including the XG2600 highperformance, ultra-low latency switch. The adapters will be available through Fujitsus extensive network of distributors, value-added resellers and system integrators. Adding momentum to Solarflares market growth, the Fujitsu relationship further solidifies Solarflares reputation as the number one choice for 10GbE server networking solutions in high-performance computing, high-frequency trading and cloud networking environments.
As network bandwidth increases, ultra-fast switching and network latency are increasingly important for maintaining true network performance. In time-sensitive, high-performance computing environments that rely on real-time applications including financial trading environments, live video streaming and communications low-latency networking solutions are mission critical.
Our server adapters provide the best performance for a wide range of applications and customers, including high-bandwidth and low-latency use cases. Switch vendors and the broader 10GbE ecosystem are taking notice, said Mike Smith, vice president and general manager of host solutions at Solarflare. We are pleased to partner with Fujitsu, as we share target customer markets, such as low-latency 10GbE networking, high-performance computing (HPC) and digital media.
Fujitsu is committed to driving industry-leading networking and cloud solutions in a highly competitive market, said Vic Herring, vice president of sales and marketing, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. Solarflares best-in-class 10GbE sever adapters for high-performance and cloud networking are a key complement and value add to existing product portfolio. The strategic partnership with Solarflare allows Fujitsu to provide customers with comprehensive switching and networking solutions that focus on low latency, high performance and low total cost of ownership.
Solarflare has shipped its 10GbE adapters to more than 120 customers and 150 locations in China, Europe, the U.S., India, Hong Kong and Singapore. Solarflares server adapters support its unique OpenOnload application acceleration middleware, which provides unmatched latency and message-rate performance for demanding application environments. Solarflares 10GbE solutions enable server virtualization for cloud networking, high-frequency trading, and high-performance computing for select verticals, such as scientific computing, oil, gas and manufacturing.
