Expert panel will share insight in deploying the next generation of Ethernet; See collaborative 10GBASE-T demo in booth #2313
Solarflare Communications will host a free education session at Interop Las Vegas 2009. A panel comprised of industry experts from leading technology companies, Solarflare along with Arista Networks, Cisco Systems and PANDUIT, will present an overview of the technologies available and the deployment challenges in rolling out 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Dr. Bruce Tolley, vice president of corporate marketing for Solarflare, will moderate the session.
Next-Generation Ethernet Session:
Challenges and opportunities deploying 10G Ethernet
Wednesday, May 20, 2009, 9:00am PT, Interop Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay
Moderator: Dr. Bruce Tolley, Solarflare VP corporate marketing; formerly IEEE 802.3aq study group chair
Panelists: Andreas Bechtolsheim, founder, chief development officer and chairman, Arista Networks; Doug Gourlay, vice president marketing, Cisco Systems; Jeff Paliga, director, Global Solutions, PANDUIT; Russell Stern, president and CEO, Solarflare
As data centers and enterprise networks continue to deploy advanced applications, it becomes necessary to look at upgrading the existing infrastructure to 10GbE. Addressing this changing enterprise landscape, the panel will provide an overview of emerging solutions and how to address challenges when implementing 10GbE networks. Also, as authorities on the latest trends, the panelists will discuss virtualization, cloud networking, protocols, media choices and SAN/LAN convergence. Anyone with an Interop expo or conference pass may attend.
In addition, Solarflare and PANDUIT, will demonstrate 10GBASE-T technology running in a virtualized, converged LAN/SAN data center network at booth #2313. It will incorporate PANDUIT TX6A 10GIG Category 6A UTP Cabling System, Solarflare’s Solarstorm vNIC controllers and 10Xpress 10GBASE-T transceivers, a Cisco Catalyst 4900M 10GbE switch and vSphere-ready VMware ESX 3.0. The demonstration proves that businesses can achieve 10 Gigabit performance with extremely low latency to support the latest high-performance applications.
