Terrascale Technologies, developers of next generation data serving solutions for enterprise-class cluster and grid applications, today announced that it will exhibit at the upcoming SEG and SC|05 events. The SEG is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the science of geophysics and the education of applied geophysicists. The SEG exposition and annual meeting is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential annual events in the oil and gas industry. SC|05 is the premier international conference on high performance computing (HPC), networking and storage. SC|05 will showcase how HPC, networking, storage and analysis lead to advances in research, education and commerce. Terrascale will demonstrate applications of its TerraGrid software at these upcoming events. TerraGrid is a uniquely powerful clustered storage solution that provides linearly scalable throughput into a global name space file system. Historically, designers of large scale computer networks have confronted the issue of data access in one of two ways: Sharing data across networks via network attached storage (NAS) protocols – at the expense of processing speed, or via segmented storage area networks (SANs) – at the expense of data sharing. TerraGrid eliminates this dilemma by providing previously unattainable throughput levels with uncompromised access to shared data. “SEG and SC|05 present excellent opportunities for Terrascale to further develop relationships within the oil and gas industry, and the HPC sector,” said Gautham Sastri, President and CEO, Terrascale Technologies. “TerraGrid-enabled clusters and grids are ideally suited to a variety of data-intensive large scale applications. Our innovative technology already has been recognized by leading organizations across a variety of sectors and we will be making major announcements in the weeks to come,” Mr. Sastri added.
