There is going to be a demo of high performance computing on the Apple platform on the night of April 27th in the SoHo neighborhood of NYC. Apple's will use the latest PowerPC G5 Processors made by IBM. This, along with a new 64bit UNIX operating system allows the construction of supercomputers for a fraction of the cost of comparable systems. Matt MacInnis, Manager for research computing in Apple’s worldwide Professional Markets team, will show attendees the merits of the Mac platform, useful third-party applications and successful customers who are using Xserve G5 for high performance computing today. Matt MacInnis graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
