Red Lambda recognized Guy Feld as being instrumental in Red Lambda securing its Series C funding round.
Feld has 20 years’ UK investment banking experience and, although a generalist by background, he has maintained a special focus on technology stocks since 1998. He is co-manager of the Marlborough UK Micro-Cap Growth Fund, which he has worked on since inception in October 2004. This Fund has achieved top-quartile ranking over one, three and five years. Feld’s technology selections drove the performance of the UK Micro-Cap Growth Fund so decisively that it won its class in the 2012 Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards.
The $700 million Marlborough Special Situations Fund invested in Red Lambda in October 2011 on the recommendation of Feld. He has been working on this Fund since 2003 and the Fund is one of the top-performing smaller companies mutual funds in the UK, with a top-quartile ranking over the last one, three, five and 10 years. The vast majority of the Fund’s investments are in quoted companies. For the Fund to take a position in a private company such as Red Lambda at such an early stage is uncommon and demonstrates the strength of Feld’s conviction.
“We are extremely proud that someone of Guy Feld’s reputation saw our technology for what it is—an industry game changer. As a tough and astute fund manager, we are pleased to have passed the high standards of his investment criteria. He clearly saw the vision of Red Lambda and the strategic importance of our solutions in solving some of the security industry’s most difficult challenges,” said Red Lambda Chairman and CEO Bahram Yusefzadeh. “We look forward to working with him and Hargreave Hale in making a positive impact on the global security industry, as well as making a contribution to Feld’s impeccable reputation as a manager who continually makes best-of-class investments.”
