Active Storage recently announced key platform partners for the mMedia Platform as industry-leading Levels Beyond, Archiware, and Adobe Systems Inc.
By tightly integrating the mMedia Platform with leading technologies, users realize more creativity, productivity and easier management of content throughout their workflow. Users spend less time making hardware and software work together, and more time doing what they want to do: create content.
The mMedia Platform can host specific applications directly on the system. With top priorities driven by customer demand, the mMedia Platform today hosts Levels Beyond's Reach Engine and Archiware's PresSTORE 4.2 directly on the platform. The mMedia Platform has also been optimized for the recently announced, Adobe Creative Suite 6, including Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
"We built the mMedia Platform to be a powerful and flexible solution for media storage and management workflow – from ingest through archive," said Alex Grossman, founder and president of Active Storage. "But a platform really shines, when its capabilities are extended by powerful, tightly integrated solutions. Which is exactly what the mMedia Platform does."
Levels Beyond and Active Storage: Collaborating on video library management and workflow Active Storage hosts Levels Beyond's Reach Engine on the mSAN, part of the mMedia Platform. This combination of hardware and software provides clients with robust, reliable, high-performance storage, and improved monitoring.
"The biggest challenge in architecting an efficient digital workflow is integrating multiple products from multiple vendors of workflows, transcoding, storage and editing solutions," said Danny Gold, EVP Strategy & Solutions, Levels Beyond. "Reach Engine, our scalable workflow and asset management platform, operates right beside Active Storage's latest high-density, high-performance storage products that enables us to output more creative product more efficiently."
Archiware and Active Storage: Collaboration that reduces risk To reduce the risk of loss of content stored directly onto the server, the mMedia Platform hosts Archiware's PresSTORE 4.2, right on the mMedia Platform. Collaboration with Archiware eliminates the requirement to deploy a separate server for handling backup and synchronization, while providing more options for admins, improved disaster recovery and higher availability overall.
"Our customers count on us for easy archiving to synchronization to replication. Many of our customers are part of the media entertainment community. Their workloads and data volumes each week reach well beyond the terabyte level," said Derek Brown, manager, North American Sales, Archiware. "The mMedia Platform along with Archiware PresSTORE will provide our joint customers the options they want for the efficient management of their content."
"Active Storage has always been a customer-focused company. As part of the development process for the mMedia Platform, we interviewed thousands of our customers to find out what they wanted us to host on the mMedia Platform. They specifically asked for PresSTORE; its purpose, to help keep content safe and improve workflow, was a natural fit for the mMedia Platform," said Grossman.
Adobe and Active Storage: Creative collaboration The mMedia Platform is optimized to run the recently announced Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, giving users superb, shared access for their creative workflows in a true cross-platform media environment.
"With the mMedia Platform, CS6 users will share files and collaborate across a video-optimized workflow faster and more intuitively than ever," said Grossman. "This helps users meet deadlines and gives them the freedom to do what they do best; create content as quickly as possible."
Active Storage announced the mMedia Platform in January 2012, currently shipping to leading broadcast and post-production facilities around the world.
The mMedia Platform, complete with all three platform partner products, is being demonstrated together for the first time starting today at NAB (South Hall Lower Level, Booth SL11512), April 16-19, 2012, Las Vegas, NV.
