3PAR Names Rusty Walther as Vice President of Customer Services

Industry Veteran of More Than 25 Years to Lead Global Support Operations
3PAR announced today the appointment of Rusty Walther as Vice President of Customer Services. Walther brings over 25 years of technology services experience to this position.
Walther is charged with overseeing 3PAR’s Customer Services global organization and infrastructure, which delivers comprehensive and proactive deployment and maintenance services to 3PAR’s customers and business partners worldwide. In this role, Walther is responsible for all Technical Support, Field Service, Service Logistics, Deployment Services, Program Management, and Technical Education, as well as for maintaining and managing a global ecosystem of Authorized Service Partners. In this position, Walther reports to 3PAR President and CEO David Scott.
Walther joins 3PAR from Data Domain following the company’s acquisition by EMC. As Data Domain's Vice President of Customer Service and Support, he oversaw all global services and support activities for the company. Prior to EMC, Walther was the Senior Vice President of Global Support for NetApp. During his more than four year tenure at NetApp, Walther was responsible for all global strategy, operations, staff, and business execution for the company’s support organization. Walther has also held senior support positions at ONI Systems, AboveNet, Nortel, 3Com, and Bay Networks. Before entering the private sector, Rusty spent 16 years in the US Marine Corps building and managing a variety of worldwide IT systems. He departed government service in 1992 as Director of the US Marine Corps West Coast Data Center Operations.
