Grid pioneer becomes Red Hat Ready Partner and validates open source software stack on the leading open source operating system: Univa Corporation, the leading provider of commercial software, support and services for grid solutions based on open source Globus software, today announced it has joined the Red Hat ISV Partner Program, which offers software vendors the opportunity to easily access the tools and resources necessary to develop and test their applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, the leading platform for open source computing. Univa joined as a Red Hat Ready Partner. By joining the Red Hat Ready Partner Program, Univa will take advantage of the program's co-marketing and co-branding offerings to bring Univa Globus, its complete open source software stack for grid and cluster computing, to the global community of Red Hat Enterprise Linux customers. "We recognize Red Hat as the most-widely deployed open source operating platform for grid and high performance computing (HPC) applications," said Jason Liu, Univa's CEO. "As an ISV partner, Univa will leverage Red Hat's extensive resources to ensure that solutions incorporating Univa Globus are optimized for the Red Hat platform, and provide our customers with a comprehensive open source offering for their enterprise computing needs." Univa Globus is based on the Globus Toolkit, which is the most widely deployed grid software platform in the world. Univa Globus incorporates software for both cluster and enterprise-wide job scheduling, data management, security and monitoring. When combined with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Univa's industry leading professional services, Univa Globus delivers a comprehensive open source solution for all HPC and grid environments, whether a single cluster within a department, or an enterprise-wide grid spanning a global organization. "Red Hat Enterprise Linux provides an exceptional set of technologies to underpin Univa Globus deployments," said Steve Tuecke, CTO of Univa. "By validating our products on the Red Hat platform, Univa's customers are assured that their grid environment meets the highest levels of compatibility, manageability and extensibility." Globus-based grid solutions have been supported on Red Hat platforms for many years, by Univa and the open source community. The partnership extends the depth of this support and enables Univa to more effectively develop, test and certify its products on the Red Hat platform.
