MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- SGI today announced the availability of SGI(R) IRGO(TM) HPC workflow-optimization features for the IRIX(R) operating environment to help developers compile and optimize high-productivity solutions for mission-critical and business-critical technical compute environments. IRGO provides tools for run-time optimization, development optimization and workflow security, enabling the creation of highly efficient code in a secure environment. Workflow optimization is critical as the supercomputing industry becomes more focused on high-productivity computing -- and scientists, researchers and engineers in disciplines from life sciences to national defense are faced with incomprehensible amounts of data. That data must be quickly and accurately processed, translated into meaningful insight and, ultimately, acted upon. "IRGO is designed to support operating environments where there is no time for slow answers, where it is critical that intellectual data remain secure and where maximum system utilization is essential," said Jan Silverman, senior vice president of Global Marketing, SGI. "Combined with the our newly enhanced SGI 3000 family systems, IRGO fortifies SGI's HPC offering of unparalleled scalable system performance and the tools for high productivity."
