One of only 4 companies on the list 5 times within the past 6 years -- ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced that it has earned a spot as one of BusinessWeek's 100 "Hot Growth Companies" for the fifth time. Of the 100 companies on the list, ANSYS is one of four organizations named by BusinessWeek five times since 1999. "This acknowledgment is emblematic of our long-term vision, relationships and perseverance through a myriad of economic cycles. This achievement reinforces our commitment to the partnerships that we've cultivated over the past 34 years," said Jim Cashman, president and CEO at ANSYS. "Without this strong base of loyal customers, employees and partners, this recognition would not be possible." As one of only two software companies on the list, ANSYS ranked 52, having earned three-year averages of 14.3 percent sales growth, 11.9 percent increase in profits and 18.6 percent return on capital. To compile its annual "Hot Growth" listing, BusinessWeek analyzes a broad range of publicly traded companies with revenues ranging from $50 million a year to as much as $1.5 billion. Those companies are then ranked by sales, earnings growth and return on capital over a three-year period. In addition, companies must have a market capitalization of at least $25 million and a stock price of at least $5. Companies who have suffered recent earnings slides or whose stock has underperformed the S&P 500 Industrial Composite Index are eliminated. The top 100 contenders make the final cut. BusinessWeek's "Hot Growth Companies" is featured in the June 7 issue, or to access the article via the Web, visit http://www.businessweek.com/ .
