SANTA ANA, CA -- MSC.Software Corp. (NYSE: MNS), a leading global provider of simulation software, services and systems, today announced the launch of the MSC.visualNastran V5i family of products based upon the Dassault Systemes V5 Component Application Architecture (CAA). These products will complement CATIA V5 Analysis solutions by providing generative high-end analysis to design teams and gateways to customers' analysis processes. The first two CAA V5 based products, MSC.Nastran Gateway and MSC.Nastran Generative have been developed as part of a strategic alliance with Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) and are now available from MSC.Software's direct sales force. The new products are completely integrated with the CATIA Generative Structural Analysis environment and provide immediate and direct access between CATIA V5 and MSC.Software's flagship product MSC.Nastran. MSC.Nastran Gateway exports "run ready" MSC.Nastran files and provides direct access to MSC.Nastran results while MSC.Nastran Generative enables users to leverage basic MSC.Nastran solver capabilities without leaving their familiar CATIA environment. Further CAA V5 based products expected later in the year will deliver robust thermal and nonlinear analysis technology as well as access to a range of other widely used simulation software. "We are excited to announce the first of the many products that come from our alliance with Dassault Systemes and that build upon the strength of the V5 platform," said Frank Perna, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MSC.Software. "MSC.Software is leveraging our core strengths to rapidly deliver a complete simulation portfolio to the fast growing CATIA V5 user community. I am delighted by this visible demonstration of the strength of our relationship with Dassault Systemes and we look forward to continued success as this family of products further penetrates the large CATIA installed base." "I am delighted to see the advancements being made by MSC.Software. It proves once again the strength of the CAA V5 Architecture to support the rapid development of V5 compliant applications," said Bernard Charles, President, Dassault Systemes. "MSC.Software's new family of CAA V5 based products is providing outstanding benefits to our customers and is making CATIA V5 the most complete, capable and integrated Analysis and Simulation solution ever delivered."
