Aspen Systems, Inc., a leader in the custom design, manufacture and service of a wide array of Linux®-based high-performance computing solutions, today announced it will commence reselling Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR) products to broaden the availability of high-end networking solutions for Beowulf clusters. Aspen Systems, as an Extreme Solutions Partner (ESP), will co-market, resell and support Extreme Networks’ high-end Ethernet switching platforms including the BlackDiamond®, Alpine®, and Summit® product families. Extreme Solutions Partners consist of regional value-added resellers who have excellent resources and solutions to support a broader target audience. A partnership with Extreme Networks equips Aspen Systems with the ability to offer custom Beowulf clusters with a comprehensive, high performance Ethernet networking solution set. By being a part of Extreme Networks’ ESP program, Aspen Systems can pass on many benefits from the program to their customers. Aspen Systems can reward customers as their purchases of Extreme Networks’ products grow, along with additional incentives when delivering solutions to key vertical market opportunities such as education and government. “Extreme Networks offers a high-end networking switch for 64 non-blocking nodes, therefore Aspen Systems can now deliver a cluster with a greater density of nodes per rack, which will lead to a higher league of performance for our custom Beowulf clusters, stated Mr. Steven Spring, CEO of Aspen Systems. “This type of performance in Aspen Systems’ Beowulf clusters will allow us to expand our product line within high-performance computing to the high-end clustering market.” “Extreme Networks’ advanced scalable Ethernet switching platforms are ideal for critical areas of technology, such as Beowulf computing clusters,” said John Spiliotis, vice president of America’s sales for Extreme Networks. “We welcome Aspen Systems into our ESP program and provide them with the ability to successfully sell, deploy and manage Extreme solutions in a variety of environments. In addition, Aspen’s end-users benefit from a complete set of tools and capabilities to design, install and support their networks.”
