10GbE Unified Storage Solutions From Infortrend Cross Market Segments

There was a time that some deemed iSCSI unsuitable to serve the demanding storage needs of high performance data centers. With iSCSI now able to run on 10Gbps Ethernet, those arguments related to performance are becoming less and less persuasive -- and the arguments for the perceived performance advantages offered by Fibre Channel are disappearing. Bolstering the case for Ethernet, easy deployment and management make 10GbE NAS products especially attractive to SMB users.
In keeping with the trend towards 10GbE adoption -- and with the needs of a wide variety of market segments in mind -- Infortrend's (tpe:2495) EonNAS family of Unified Storage Systems provides a range of 10GbE NAS solutions. From desktop to rack-mount, the EonNAS family enables SMB, remote branches or enterprise departments to efficiently deal with intensive data transmission -- file sharing, video surveillance, disk-based backup, data streaming, cloud storage applications and more.
Thomas Kao, senior director of product planning at Infortrend, said, "Infortrend is continually adding powerful solutions to our EonNAS family that enable us to better meet the requirements of all different kinds of environments -- from SMB to the enterprise. Our 10GbE options further strengthen our presence in the NAS market and offer our customers an even more comprehensive set of tools, including features that previously have been only available on high-end NAS solutions. Those features include data deduplication, compression, snapshots, and ZFS."
Infortrend's NAS product family continues to evolve in the SMB and mid-range market segments. Providing excellent scalability, optimized resource utilization and strong data protection, the EonNAS solutions enable users to meet a wide variety of application requirements and easily accommodate business growth -- without the added expense of hiring IT specialists to do so.
