NexGen Storage has announced that the NexGen n5 Storage System has received the Editor’s Choice award for innovation in the Virtualization Review Reader’s Choice Awards.
“We’ve taken hybrid solid-state storage systems to a whole new level by designing a system architecture that fully leverages today’s advanced technologies,” said John Spiers, CEO and founder, NexGen Storage. “This approach enables NexGen to provide data centers with the performance they demand and, at the same time, gives administrators the ability to address one of their most pressing needs – the ability to manage performance across many applications and workloads in virtualized environments. We are honored to have our efforts validated and recognized by the Virtualization Review’s Editor’s Choice award.”
NexGen delivers the industry’s first PCIe SSD storage system designed from the ground up to manage performance just like capacity. Unlike any other shared storage system, the NexGen n5 system delivers Storage QoS for managing performance and Service Levels to guarantee the performance of mission-critical applications no matter what happens. Backed by the industry’s only solid-state performance guarantee, NexGen’s PCIe solid-state architecture avoids performance bottlenecks to offer the best price/performance ratio of any midrange storage solution.
“In the course of sitting through an endless stream of briefings with virtualization and cloud vendors, I almost always find that when I ask vendors to list their primary competitors, they usually say there really isn’t anyone else who does exactly what they do,” says Bruce Hoard, editor in chief of Virtualization Review. “The fact is a lot of vendors are shooting for the same goals, but in different ways. That’s where the annual Virtualization Review Reader’s Choice Awards and Ultimate Buyer’s Guide enables users to assess hundreds of products in one, central location. Specifically, this year we have come up with 446 products from some 412 companies—by far our biggest collection of companies who are looking for a breakthrough that will bring them to the top of the stack. We’ve also added three more cloud categories to better cover that dynamic market segment. All in all, I think readers will be really happy with what they find.”
Virtualization Review is the first and only print publication solely devoted to IT virtualization. The 2013 awards are chosen by the readers of Virtualization Review and presented to vendors in 16 categories ranging from Virtualization Management and Cloud Infrastructure to Business Continuity and Virtualization Automation.
Reader’s Choice Award results are derived via e-mail invitations sent to Virtualization Review readers in October 2012 to vote on more than 446 products. Responses were collected during a two-week period. A team of editors reviewed and compiled the Reader’s Choice results and voted on the Editor’s Choice award recipients.
The winners are highlighted in the December 2012/January 2013 issue of Virtualization Review. A downloadable PDF of the article is also available at VirtualizationReview.com.
