Company showcases a 3U high-availability redundant server platform with Mellanox FDR 56Gbps InfiniBand fabrics, running Windows Server 2012 Storage Spaces for SMB remote file servers
Echostreams Innovative Solutions has announced the availability of a family of redundant server platforms, DuraStreams, that are designed specifically for Small-Medium-Businesses (SMB), with the support of the latest Mellanox FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand fabrics. This platform is validated under Microsoft Windows Server 2012 for continuous availability, ideal for OEMs, System Integrators and Value-Added-Resellers building “Business in a Box” and “Branch in a Box” all-in-one Windows Server Hyper-V appliances. This solution supports both single Intel E5-2400 and dual Intel E5-2600 based server platform options, and come in either 2U form factor with twelve 3.5” hard disk bays, or 3U convertible to pedestal with sixteen 3.5” hard disk plus four 2.5” SSD disk bays; covering requirements from retail, remote/branch office, to central office and even small enterprises.
“Windows Server 2012 introduced groundbreaking, low-cost storage capabilities that can scale to meet a range of requirements from small businesses to datacenters,” said Gene Chellis, Principal PM Manager, Windows Server, of Microsoft.
“We are excited to have Mellanox RDMA interconnect solutions integrated into Echostreams’ DuraStreams, high-availability Hyper-V appliance platforms,” said Motti Beck, Director of Enterprise Market Development at Mellanox Technologies. “For many years, InfiniBand has been the high-performance interconnect of choice for clustering thousands of servers in High Performance Computing environments, and now has been rapidly adopted in virtualized data centers, where applications, when run over a converged low-latency and high-performance interconnect, can complete jobs faster with lower TCO.”
“At Echostreams we are constantly looking for market voids that no one else is filling,” said Gene Lee, President and CEO of Echostreams Innovative Solutions. “For years the solution providers have been overlooking the needs of the small to medium size businesses. By leveraging the latest technologies from our partners, we have created the perfect high-availability solutions specifically designed for the SMB environments, and best of all, make them affordable. We are proud to be part of the Microsoft Cluster-in-a-Box team.”
