QLogic Gains HBA Market Share over Nearest Competitor

QLogic Widens Overall Revenue Share Lead to Double Digits for the First Time and Achieves 50 Percent Market Share in Overall SAN HBA Revenue for First Time: QLogic today announced that QLogic ranked number one in every category of storage area network (SAN) host bus adapter (HBA) revenue and port market share, according to new data from the Dell'Oro Group Q1 2008 SAN Report. Dell'Oro reports that QLogic achieved: overall revenue market share gains versus its primary competitor for the fourth consecutive quarter, 50 percent market share in overall SAN HBA revenue for the first time and a double-digit lead over the nearest competitor in overall revenue share for the first time. QLogic once again dominated the competition in the fast growing market for blade server mezzanine cards, pulling in 73.1 percent of revenue share and 73.8 percent of port share for the first calendar quarter 2008. “Customer deployments of blade servers and server virtualization are driving our momentum,” said Amit Vashi, vice president of marketing, QLogic Host Solutions Group. “With more than 73 percent market share in mezzanine cards and more than 50 percent share in overall HBA revenue, QLogic host bus adapters are the preferred choice.” QLogic: The Fibre Channel HBA of Choice in the Enterprise QLogic market share leadership is driven by IT professionals in Global 2000 corporate datacenters that are deploying Fibre Channel HBAs.
