United Devices announced its Grid MP Cluster solution is now available with HP High Performance LC Series Clusters based on industry-standard HP ProLiant DL140, DL145, DL360 and DL380 servers. Grid MP Cluster provides several advantages to the Linux cluster community, including seamless virtualization and provisioning of resources, centralized data and application management, high levels of security and a leading application framework. In addition, the Grid-Ready capabilities for cluster extension let customers provision and share their LC resource without purchasing additional Grid management packages as required by competitive offerings. The technology currently operates large-scale Grids and clusters at many of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. "This package delivers price performance and usability previously unavailable in the Linux Cluster management space," said Jikku Venkat, United Devices CTO. "With a Grid-ready HP LC Series cluster, customers can extend cluster resources to chosen user groups and dynamically provision the cluster across users and applications." "The integration of United Devices' Grid MP Cluster software with HP ProLiant servers offers Linux customers a robust and affordable means for achieving high performance computing," said Bruce Toal, director of marketing for High Performance Computing at HP. "HP's high-performance technical computing strategy stems from delivering complete solutions on industry-standard HP platforms that offer superior power, broader choice and lower total cost of ownership."
