Active Storage announced the immediate availability of higher-density versions of ActiveRAID – its high-performance, high-availability RAID storage solution.
The new systems offer 48TB of storage capacity in only three rack-units (3RU) and deliver higher throughput in post and broadcast production SAN environments with the same ease of deployment and management for which ActiveRAID is known.
"The new ActiveRAID 48TB systems represent not only massive storage capacity in a compact high-availability RAID configuration, but have been highly optimized for media production by Active Storage engineers. Thanks to our proprietary disk management techniques we have improved the headroom on these systems - delivering nearly full performance even in failed or drive rebuild states," said Mark Lonsdale, SVP Engineering of Active Storage.
"Huge file-based video workflows, in HD , 4K and beyond will benefit greatly from the throughput and low latency offered by these systems. Capacity is incredible. When a RAID and Expansion system are paired a user will have 96TB in just 6RU," Lonsdale continued.
The new systems are available in both self-contained high-availability Active/Active RAID configurations and add-on Expansion systems. Systems are compatible with all modern operating and file systems and highly optimized for use in Apple Xsan and StorNext SAN configurations.
