Atempo has announced that it will exhibit at the Supercomputing 2010 (SC10) conference in New Orleans, and showcase its suite of data management software optimized for high-performance computing customers. Atempo will offer attendees a firsthand look at how Atempo Digital Archive, Atempo's highly scalable file archiving platform, and Atempo Time Navigator, the company's high-performance backup and recovery solution, integrate into the digital workflow and become integral components in life sciences, geospatial intelligence, academic research, and other data-intensive computing environments.
Featuring the latest breakthroughs in high-performance computing, networking, storage and analysis, SC10 is an international conference that spotlights the most original and fascinating scientific and technical applications from around the world. Atempo will exhibit and demonstrate its solutions at Booth #4643
"The petabyte-scale computing made possible by today's supercomputers creates petabyte-scale data management challenges for scientists, researchers and storage administrators," said Marylise Tauzia, director of product management and marketing at Atempo. "With a suite of scalable, open and intelligent backup and archive solutions, Atempo has a proven track record of protecting and preserving scientific imagery, weather simulations and other complex data at some of the world's most advanced computing institutions. Both Atempo Digital Archive and Atempo Time Navigator are optimized to provide the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness in any high-performance computing environment."
Both Atempo Digital Archive and Atempo Time Navigator have the proven scalability to manage petabytes of data, which is a critical challenge for supercomputing environments where high volumes of data are created daily. Other Atempo capabilities key to high-performance computing include:
- TAR format support to ensure that protected data can be read years down the road.
- Advanced indexing of metadata for powerful searches, even through millions of files.
- Block-level deduplication and single-instance storage to minimize media requirements.
- Intelligent and intuitive capabilities such as time navigation, project-based and user-initiated archiving, and advanced metadata management to provide the flexibility to adapt to any scientific workflow or organizational policies.
In addition, Atempo's device support is among the broadest in the industry, providing customers with flexibility to protect and preserve their information on a wide variety of tape, disk and cloud storage platforms.
