Nimbus Data Systems will demonstrate its Sustainable Storage technology, including its S-class enterprise flash systems, at TechTarget's NSG (National System for Geospatial Intelligence) Summit on October 13, 2010, at the Dulles Expo Center in Washington, DC.
With nearly 30 petabytes of capacity requirements, the NSG has identified "data storage" among its top five global priorities, citing performance, power, and storage management issues as among its most pressing operational challenges. The Nimbus S-class, the first enterprise-class pure solid state SAN and NAS platform, offers breakthrough performance, efficiency, and capacity scalability to streamline and accelerate these HPC and data-intensive environments at the acquisition cost of 15k disk. Government agencies like DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and government suppliers like L-3 Communications have already selected Nimbus technology.
"Intelligence agencies must accommodate data from a wide range of sources, such as airborne, commercial, and satellite images, perform structured analysis to produce actionable information, and do so in a rapidly changing, collaborative environment," said Nimbus CEO Thomas Isakovich. "We intend to demonstrate to attendees how our approach to Sustainable Storage with flash technology can meet performance needs while drastically reducing datacenter operating and management costs."
Since unveiling its S-class flash storage systems earlier this year, Nimbus has earned wide acclaim from customers and tech industry insiders. Nimbus was chosen by eWeek as one of 17 Promising Storage Companies and won the Tech Awards Circle gold award for best Midrange Storage Hardware for 2010. Nimbus' S-class flash storage systems leverage the incredible speed, efficiency, and comprehensive software of NAND flash technology and Nimbus' HALO operating system to deliver up to 24x greater storage performance and 90 percent lower energy usage than traditional disk-based arrays. Nimbus HALO performs snapshots, replication, deduplication, and multi-protocol SAN and NAS functionality out of the box for complete enterprise storage management.
The Storage Decisions NSG Summit is the foremost storage education and networking event for storage pros in the intelligence community. The 200 delegates represent the storage IT teams at dozens of the country's government organizations. This exclusive event is produced by SearchStorage.com and Storage Magazine Online. Storage Decisions is invaluable to technical and business decision-makers due to its strategic, vendor-neutral content. Celebrated storage experts and industry analysts reveal the most effective real-world solutions, step-by-step best practices, and how to avoid the hidden pitfalls that cost unnecessary time and money.
