BALTIMORE, MD -- Researchers have until Friday, July 29, to submit proposals for poster presentations for SC2002, the annual high performance networking and computing conference. SC2002 will take place Nov. 16-22 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Conference planners solicit poster presentations that report on late-breaking experimental or theoretical results, innovative designs, and case studies related to high performance networking and computing. Posters offer the chance for greater timeliness, compared to a full paper, and a more casual presentation setting with the opportunity for more in-depth, one-on-one dialogue. Because posters are an excellent way to communicate ideas and results not yet developed into full research papers, the submission of works in progress and results from the final stages of Ph.D research are encouraged. Poster topics of interest include: - scalable systems - high performance networking - high performance I/O - novel computer architectures - distributed collaborations - architecture simulation - user experiences - parallel databases - data- and computation-intensive applications - large-scale databases and digital libraries - fault-tolerant architectures and system SW - performance evaluation and modeling - distributed computing systems - programming environments and tools - visualization - parallel and distributed algorithms - workload characterization - optimization studies A committee will select posters of exceptional technical quality, originality, relevance, and clarity. A monetary prize, based on both content and presentation, will be awarded to the "Best Poster" of the conference. This award will be announced during the SC2002 Awards Session. All poster presenters must register for the SC2002 technical program. If your poster is accepted, you will receive instructions on preparing and presenting your poster. A poster submission form is available through the SC2002 website. Go to www.sc-conference.org/sc2002/program and click on "posters."
