Fujitsu Limited, a leading provider of ICT-based business solutions, and Platform Computing , the leader in cluster, grid and cloud management software, today announced a strategic agreement for Fujitsu to become the latest partner for Platform Computing's industry leading high performance computing (HPC) and cluster management solutions. Fujitsu becomes a worldwide Platform Strategic Partner, building on its position as one of Platform's leading partners in the global market.
The agreement enables Fujitsu to provide its customers – including HPC-Wales - with Platform Computing's cluster management software, Platform Cluster Manager, which has been validated and optimized for Fujitsu's PRIMERGY industrial standard servers. Fujitsu is offering Platform Cluster Manager as the cluster provisioning and monitoring tool for its PRIMERGY server series. Fujitsu customers can now choose from the PCM Fujitsu Edition - Basic Package and the PCM Fujitsu Edition - Enterprise Package, which also includes the industry-leading workload manager, Platform LSF and Platform MPI. Both packages include an extension kit derived from Fujitsu's many years of HPC experience. The kit enables customers to use high-quality cluster systems optimized to Fujitsu PRIMERGY in a short deployment period.
Fujitsu and HPC Wales recently announced that they are collaborating on research and training of researchers to advance the use of HPC in priority areas such as digital, environment, low-carbon energy generation, the life sciences, advanced materials, and manufacturing.
