Nexenta Systems has announced two partner programs designed to dramatically increase the number of solutions on the market that are powered by NexentaStor, the industry’s leading ZFS-based solution. Under the Nexenta Authorized Reseller Partner Program and the Nexenta Technology Partner Program, the company is partnering with technology organizations around the world to help drive low cost, high performance storage solutions that are superior alternatives to proprietary and legacy technologies. To assist in the growth of the partner programs, Nexenta also announced today the availability of the Nexenta Automated Build and Test (NABAT), a free and comprehensive testing and certification software Nexenta developed to help its partners quickly bring Nexenta-powered solutions to market.
“The goal of Nexenta’s partner programs is to build an open community of companies providing high-value solutions and services around NexentaStor and ZFS,” said Evan Powell, CEO of Nexenta. “We already have over 100 channel partners in 34 countries driving 80 percent of our revenue. The combination of NexentaStor, our new structured partner programs, and the free Nexenta testing and certification software will further expand our community to provide superior total solutions to storage administrators.”
Nexenta’s partner programs are designed to support members throughout the product evaluation and sales lifecycle, from initial engagement to joint marketing, sales and support. The two programs include:
Nexenta Authorized Reseller Partner Program
All authorized Reseller Partners receive Nexenta product, support and service discounts based on their program level, which range from basic to certified to premium.
To reach the certified and premium levels, resellers must have at least two employees that have attained Certified NexentaStor Engineer (CNE) classification, which can be obtained by attending Nexenta training sessions, including the upcoming event in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on July 13-15. In addition, the NexentaStor-powered solutions offered by the resellers must be certified by NABAT. Testing can either be completed by Nexenta or by partners themselves using NABAT, which is available as a no cost plug-in for organizations that have been invited to become certified partners.
“Since partnering with Nexenta four months ago, we have signed a number of large deals with customers in the central European market who required an enterprise class storage solution without incurring proprietary costs,” said Christoph Maier, CEO of Thomas Krenn. “We will continue to work closely with Nexenta to drive even further value to the storage market.”
“Our storage solution sales have increased substantially since partnering with Nexenta two years ago,” said Erik Logan, CEO of Pogo Linux. “The combination of using NABAT for our in-house testing and Nexenta's continued investment in their partner programs has helped us provide a unique and capable storage solution for our customers.”
Nexenta Authorized resellers are able to generate substantially greater margins for themselves than with legacy storage solutions while providing better value to customers. Because Nexenta only sells software, the entire hardware margin is available to partners. In addition, active Nexenta authorized resellers receive up to 10 percent of their sales back to them in the form of joint marketing funds. Certified or premium partners also receive higher margins than non-certified partners on their NexentaStor sales and are eligible to sell solutions that require a higher degree of expertise.
Nexenta Technology Partner Program
Nexenta’s Technology Partner Program facilitates the creation of storage solutions by Nexenta resellers that integrate industry standard hardware and NexentaStor software. The program certifies hardware from companies such as LSI, Intel, Dell, Supermicro and other leading storage technology providers that is delivered to market through Nexenta’s reseller channel. Nexenta provides a higher level of marketing and support for products that pass NABAT-based testing to become “NexentaStor Certified” solutions.
“As a leader in the storage market, LSI is committed to delivering storage solutions that provide channel partners with leading-edge capabilities and unmatched value,” said Brent Blanchard, director of worldwide channel marketing and sales, LSI. “As Nexenta launches their global partner programs, we look forward to working with them to deliver integrated solutions to the reseller channel that combine proven LSI storage technologies with the NexentaStor implementation of the ZFS file system.”
Other members of the Nexenta Technology Partner Program include leading providers of solid state disks (SSDs), disk enclosures and other components, as well as total system providers such as Compellent, a leading provider of enterprise-class network storage solutions.
