Intel 64 Fund Invests in Server Resource Management Technologies
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -- Aurema Pty Limited, an
enterprise software vendor specializing in Active Resource Management(TM)
technologies for computer servers, today announced that it has received an
investment from the Intel 64 Fund. The investment was made in support of the
company's commitment to develop an optimized version of its ARMTech(TM)
resource management technology for Intel's IA-64 product family, beginning
with the Intel(R) Itanium(TM) processor.
Richard Osborne, Aurema's President & CEO said, "Our Active Resource
Management(TM) technologies are becoming critical to all server-based
operating system environments, in particular, large-scale server consolidation
requiring sophisticated resource management. The importance of server
consolidation and enhanced server productivity are becoming pervasive as large
enterprises, ASPs and Hosting Services seek improved economic efficiency and
quality of service (QoS) from their IT capital -- Aurema's ARMTech enables
Server Consolidation and enhanced QoS on servers with Intel(R) Architecture
processors."
Aurema will work with Intel to ensure that the mission critical resource
management functionality provided by Aurema's ARMTech is available on
IA-64 platforms.
Cadol Cheung, Director, Strategic Investments, Intel Capital, explained
that, "Servers are the IT backbone that keeps a business running. We're
seeing that companies need larger-scale servers and technologies from
companies like Aurema to better manage this critical IT resource. The Intel
64 Fund invests in emerging technologies for next-generation servers and
workstations."
