Wedge Networks Chosen as Mobile Web Security Solution

Wmode Depends on Wedge Networks' BeSecure Appliance to Protect IT Infrastructure and Employees' Privacy

Wedge Networks has announced that its BeSecure Web Security appliance is the Network Security Appliance of choice for Wmode.

Wmode is a global leader in providing outsourced Mobile Content Distribution and Service Management for mobile operators, content publishers, media companies and advertising networks. It offers a complete suite of technologies and services as a managed service to enable mobile operators, MVNOs, content providers, media and brand companies to deliver a broad range of rich media content and services to their consumers. ClearMode, the first complete distribution solution for content and App Stores has been operated as a managed service since 2002, providing services for companies such as Orange, Rogers, Leap Wireless, Maxis, Videotron, etc.

Prior to implementing the Wedge BeSecure solution, the worst attack Wmode faced was a root kit virus loaded through a video file. Once it was downloaded, it spread rapidly and was very costly to recover computers and the network.

"While we had antivirus protection in place, given the number of hosts in our infrastructure, it was a daunting job to keep the host-based protection consistently up to date," said Dennis Woronuk President and COO of Wmode.

In order to address this problem, Wmode evaluated many antivirus solutions, and Woronuk confirmed that Wedge Networks' BeSecure Web Security appliance proved to be the only tool to pass their stringent IT security and performance standards. These standards include high throughput, extreme accuracy, scalability, ease of deployment within their infrastructure, deep content inspection capabilities and an effective management console. They were impressed by Wedge's strong reputation, reliability and innovation.

Since the BeSecure was installed, there have been no virus infections and Spam has been virtually eliminated. According to management, from the time that the BeSecure was installed, maintenance time has been significantly reduced and staff productivity greatly increased.

"It was clear to us that the attacks were coming from both the web and email infrastructures that we use to develop, aggregate, and distribute our mobile content. BeSecure's unique ability to block these attacks across the web and email protocols makes it an obvious choice", endorsed Woronuk. "The BeSecure appliance is our strongest line of defense. We recovered our investment in less than 45 days!"

"Wmode has very high standards in content delivery performance and malware detection rate", said Hongwen Zhang, President and CEO of Wedge Networks. "We're very happy that our product has provided Wmode the security they need to protect their national and international networks,"

"Wmode would absolutely recommend Wedge," adds Woronuk. "Wedge is a great company and has a unique and important suite of products to offer."
